Our famous 1 day ‘Men Only!’ course is now in its 6th successful season and makes the perfect gift for the husband, boyfriend or father who fancies himself as a bit of a ‘dab hand’ in the kitchen! Parts 1, 2 and 3 have been incredibly popular over the years and this year we are delighted to bring you three brand new courses!
Each course contains a different menu and is taught through a range of demonstrations and practical classes.
Starting at 9.30 in our magnificent demonstration theatre, with coffee and a light breakfast while you watch our professional chef tutors demonstrating a range of dishes, you will then move into the kitchens to put what you have seen into practice and cook yourself a delicious lunch which you can enjoy with a glass of wine.
In the afternoon you will return to the kitchens and by the end of the day, have an amazing meal to take home to your friends and family.

 1 Day Fish Workshop - Thursday 30 August 2012 £155
Following a similar format to the Meat Workshop, our 1 day fish course will include a hands on, interactive lecture by our amazing fishmonger, Ron Fowler.
Ron will show off an impressive array of fish which he sources directly from the boats, explaining the provenance, characteristics and sustainability of a wide variety of fish. In addition to this, he will demonstrate a range of different filleting, skinning and preparation techniques for different types of fish.
You will also have the chance to put what you see into practice, preparing, finishing and cooking a range of fish to take home at the end of the day!

 1 Day Meat Workshop - Friday 31 August 2012 £155
This day will begin with a butchery demonstration by butcher, Ian Wood. Ian will break down a full carcass into its individual cuts explaining the complete process from rearing the animal, through the slaughter and hanging process right up to cooking the meat. You will then move into the kitchens where you will have the opportunity to have a go yourself, cooking up a beautiful lunch using some of the meat that Ian has prepared and enjoying a glass of wine. In the afternoon you will be back in the kitchens preparing and butchering a range of meat which you will be able to take away with you at the end of the day!

 Christmas Entertaining - Tuesday 11 & Wednesday 12 December 2012 £295
Our ever popular Christmas course returns this year with an emphasis on original and inspiring ideas to entertain friends and family over the festive period, and of course there will be a number of items which you will be able to take home to stock up your freezer over the busy holiday period!
Both days start at 9.15 and will finish at 3.45 (approx.)


 Sauces Workshop - Thursday 19 & Friday 20 March 2013 £295
The ability to make and finish beautiful sauces can take your food to the next level. On this 2 day course we will teach you a wide range of recipes, all of which incorporate sauces ranging from the most basic to the advanced. Learn about ‘mother sauces’ such as mayonnaise, and their derivatives such as aioli. Learn how to make beautiful stocks which form the base of so many amazing sauces and learn how to transform your presentation skills by saucing plates beautifully.

 Macarons Workshop - Tuesday 19 March 2013 £130
There is no doubt that macarons are the morsel of the moment! Go to any Parisian patisserie and you will see an thousands of these delicious treats arranged into an array of glorious technicolour. On this course we will show you how to make a wide variety of different macarons of various flavours and striking colours. At the end of the day you will have a box of beautiful delights to take home and wow your friends and family.
Making macarons requires dexterity and skill so we advise that this course is better suited to cooks who already have a good degree of skill.

 Pasta Workshop - Thursday 21 & Friday 22 March 2013 £295
Fresh pasta is a completely different product to the dried variety that is sold in supermarkets today. Making it requires skill and in some cases dexterity, but without fail it serving up your own homemade ravioli or tortellini will impress even the most experienced of foodie friends.
During this 2 day pasta workshop you will learn how to make a wide variety of pasta shapes and colours and will incorporate them into some stunning dishes to enjoy over lunch with a glass of wine and take home at the end of the course.
Learn how to make wonderful fresh pasta shapes by hand such as beautiful tortellini, how to colour pasta with tomato, spinach or squid ink, and learn how to use a pasta machine to create perfect spaghetti, tagliatelli or even ravioli!

 Artisan Bread Workshop - Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th September 2013 £295
Our 2 day bread workshop is a must for those with an interest in the arts of baking beautiful breads. During this two day course you will learn a wide range of breads from the most simple but delicious soda bread and simple yeast dough to the complex art of creating a starter which you can nurture and maintain, to use in your own sourdough recipes in the future.
