15 Jan 2009 Angela Hartnett, Adam Byatt, Jason Atherton, Gordon Ramsay.... the list is growing
Over the last year, students at Tante Marie Culinary
Academy have benefitted from visits by some of
the UK's most exciting and influential chefs.
Angela Hartnett, whose latest venture, Murano,
has just earned her another Michelin star, visited
the school last summer to demonstrate to the
students, and has since taken on a student to
work at her pub/deli combo, York and Albany as
well as another to work at Murano, in the pastry
section!
In addition to Angela's visit, the school also hosted a Ready-Steady-Cook style competition between Jason Atherton, Stuart Gillies and Mark Sergeant, of Maze, The Boxwood Cafe/Plane Food, and Claridges respectively.
This was followed by an inspirational visit by Gordon Ramsay and Mark Sergeant, who demonstrated a number of dishes to the students.
At the end of the Autumn term, we were extremely fortunate to welcome Adam Byatt of Clapham's Trinity Restaurant to the school. Adam's experience with demonstrating, and educating trainee chefs made his visit an experience that none of the students will forget.
Over the coming months, we have a number of exciting chefs lined up to visit the school and share their knowledge with the students, so keep your eyes on this page for more details!
