Everyone at Tante Marie would like to send huge congratulations to Glen Sharman who has been awarded the Academy of Culinary Arts Award for Culinary Excellence, 2011.

Glen graduated from Tante Marie in November 2008 aged just 17, and now works as a pastry chef at Pennyhill Park Hotel in Berkshire. Having already won an award in 2010 for his impressive pastry skills, Glen made it through to the final round of the Awards of Excellence, held at Le Gavroche, where he was judged by various chefs, including honorary president Heston Blumenthal; London's Ritz hotel executive chef John Williams; and Martyn Nail, executive chef of Claridge's.

Glen was one of 5 chefs to earn the award in this category in 2011, with previous winners invluding the like of Adam Byatt, Tristan Welch and Glyn Purnell.
