Beginners Courses
These one and two week courses are for anyone over the age of 16 who has
had limited opportunity to learn to cook. Many of those attending are likely
to be 6th formers or students studying at college or university. However,
we welcome anyone of any age who wants to learn to cook with confidence.
The courses provide an introduction to cookery and the pleasures of good
food and healthy eating. Easy, but exciting traditional and contemporary
recipes are taught.
Each week features different menus and classes are
all practical with integrated demonstrations. Each morning there are practical
classes in which students cook their own two-course lunch. In the afternoon
students cook delicious cakes, biscuits and bread to take home. A typical
day will begin at 9.30 am and finish at 4.00 pm.
