Tante Marie Tartes Food Stall at Woking Food & Drink Festival 2017

Tante Marie Tarte

There’s something new and delicious on the menu at this year’s Woking Food & Drink festival, with Tante Marie Culinary Academy teachers manning their very own food stall – Tante Marie Tartes!

Across the 3 day festival we will be serving classic French tartes made by our very own Academy teaching staff, both savoury and sweet as well as macaron glace – a delicious treat of macaron ice cream sandwiches!

A tarte for every taste!

Available to buy as a single slice, a selection of 3 or a whole tarte to take home and share with the family, our selection of tartes include:

Tarte Flambé – a classic yeast raised pastry topped with smoked bacon, sweet white onions and plenty of cheese making this a melty and delicious treat.
Tarte Provençale – consisting of a homemade puff pastry base covered in tomato fondue and topped with vibrant ratatouille vegetables.
Ploughman’s tarte – a perfect shortcrust pastry case deep filled with red onion chutney, home cured ham, sharp cheddar, roasted cherry tomatoes all bound together with egg.

Chuckleberry bakewell tarte – sweet pastry topped with Chuckleberry jam (a hybrid berry created in the UK by a Mr Charles Welch!) and a classic frangipane.
Chocolate salted butterscotch tarte – chocolate pastry filled with rich salted butterscotch and chocolate crema, topped with cocoa nibs – every chocolate lovers dream!
Passionfruit tarte – a sweet pastry case filled to the top with zingy passionfruit custard.

Macaron Glace Flavours:

Raspberry Ripple – rippled macaron shell filled with raspberry ripple parfait.
Chocolate & Cherry – chocolate macaron shell filled with chocolate parfait with brandied Kentish cherry pieces.
Rum & Raisin – classic vanilla macaron shells filled with rum parfait with a raisin ripple and whole rum soaked raisins.

Learn to make them yourself

Once you have tasted the delights our talented teachers have whipped up, there is no doubt that you will wish you could make them yourself at home. Well with our supporting cooking demonstrations on the main demo stage, you will be able to give it a shot. Our senior teachers Claire, Al & Ally will be demonstrating how to create some of our Tante Marie Tartes in your own kitchen. Don’t miss them all day Friday, 12.00pm Saturday & 11.00am Sunday.

A full programme of demonstrations can be found on the festival website.
